Life Cycle Costing

Cost considerations with respect to noise barriers as with other infrastructure investments include the initial investment as well as ongoing maintenance costs and expected useful life of the barrier.

This perspective can be encompassed by life cycle costing which views the sustainability of the investment.

The diagram below contrasts the total life cycle costs of Durisol vs. other less durable materials.  Note that usable life of other materials may vary slightly, however, Durisol is routinely selected to replace failed wood, steel or light gauge concrete systems.  Durisol has never replaced one of its own walls due to failure in over 30 years of field experience.
