WHAT IS DURISOL Durisol, a proprietary material using only natural ingredients, is composed of specially graded raw wood shavings and chips, which are neutralized and mineralized, then bonded together with Portland cement. It can be moulded to suit any desired shape, texture and thickness. Hardened Durisol is lightweight, porous and very durable. It does not rot nor decay, is vermin, termite and insect proof and does not support fungus growth. Durisol is totally environmentally safe, does not contain nor emit any toxic elements, and is fully recyclable. PROPERTIES Complete test reports and in – service testimonials are available upon request. Durisol is a tried and tested material with a track record of over 50 years. Durisol products have been developed and used in many applications around the world. It is labelled as a green product. Our environmentally friendly product uses 78% recycled materials; softwood aggregates, by-products of the lumber industry and recycled wood from building and post-construction waste. Durisol is 100% recyclable. Durisol products are available in standard, custom and highly intricate designs. Exposed Durisol surfaces are available in a variety of textures and colours to meet specific architectural requirements. Generally, a Durisol product is a combination of a reinforced concrete core faced on one or both sides with a layer of Durisol material. |
