Integrated Noise/Traffic Barrier

Durisol's precast traffic barrier system integrates noise barriers which can be stacked above the traffic barriers.  The resulting integrated noise/traffic barrier system minimizes the space required in the right of way.  The system is being increasingly used for highway widenings which are frequently approaching residential lot lines in established urban areas.

The lateral impact loads associated with the traffic barriers is handled by increasing the design strength of the posts and footings.  Several barrier systems have been developed to handle varying required lateral loads.

The standard PL2 system has been used for approximately 20 years covering over 100 miles (160km) of highway.  It is estimated that hundreds of impacts have occured over this period and no barrier has ever been breached and very few have ever been replaced.
